Freycinet, Tasmania

Like a stingray, basking on the shore of Coles Bay, Saffire is a beautifully designed hotel to compliment Freycinet’s stunning scenery.

Luxurious comfort, superb cuisine, excellent service and intelligent guiding await the lucky few.

Tasmania has really come in its own recently as a mecca for outdoorsy pursuits, great food and wine. Historically it was the barren rock ‘off the bottom of Australia’; a place where convicts were sent or he very poor had to scrape out an existence. It must have been this pioneering spirit which eventually succeeded in farming – although the seafood was always excellent – and Tasmania supplies mainland Australia with some of the finest deli produce.

Suddenly this is Australia with ‘all four seasons in a day’ and so British citizens will feel comfortably at home. The landscape is dramatic and, being an outpost, there is much unique flora and fauna. Guides will take guests on walks and describe what you are looking at but even without, one can tell the nature all around is not quite the same as anything one has seen before.
